Great India, a Fine Indian Cuisine

At Great India, we serve a selection of traditional Indian dishes as well as several of our own creations. The ingredients we use complement each other nutritionally and please the palate. All dishes are made with freshly ground herbs and contains No MSG. Each dish is spiced to enhance its particular aroma and flavor. The spices do not make the dishes hot, our skilled chefs make each dish individually and we will be happy to make your dishes the way you prefer them, from mild to extra–hot. Please bear in mind, Indian food is not “fast food” and that our dishes take time to prepare. Your patience will be rewarded. Below is a list of items from out menu. Enjoy!

Appetizers – All appetizers served with onion chutney, green chutney and tamarid chutney. Below are just a few items we offer.

  • Samosa – Crisp pastry turnover filled with mixed vegetable or minced chicken
  • Alu Chop – A tangy combination of potato cake chickpeas and tamarid sauce.

Soup from Great India

Soups

  • Lentil Soup – A special Indian creation of Lentils, broth, and herbs.
  • Tomato Soup – A refreshing and delicious fresh tomato soup.

  • Raita – Homemade yogurt with diced cucumber and tomato
  • Mango Chutney – sweet and sour chutney made with mango

Great Indian Clay Over Delights – served with basmati rice and raita.

  • Murg Tandoori – half spring chicken marinated with authentic Indian spices and grilled in the clay over
  • Great India Jhinga Tikka Masalam – Jumbo Prawns marinated with herbs, garlic and slowly broiled in the clay oven then cooked with pasanda sauce cream and almonds.

Chef’s Special Presentation – Dumpakht Dishes are served with rice. Dumpakht is a method of cooking by which the cooking vessel is sealed with pastry resulting in a deliciously moist flavorful dish.

  • Goat Dumpakht – lean goat pieces cooked with fresh tomato, onion, green pepper, garlic, and ginger with a unique blend of special medium sauce
  • Madras – A South Indian specialty lamb, beef or chicken pieces cooked in a special hot sauce with a touch of lemon.

  • Murg Curry – Boneless cubes of chicken breasts, sautéed in fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, and authentic curry sauce.
  • Murg Vindaloo – the all–time favorite that is hot and zesty

  • Jhinga Korma – jumbo prawns sautéed in coconut milk and a special pasanda sauce.
  • Machi Masalla – fish cooked in fried onions, tomato, and garlic in medium spiced sauce, which enhances the flavor.

Biryani Specialties – served with Raita.

  • Sha Jahano Biryani – tender chicken sautéed, spiced, and cooked with almonds, raisins, and special saffron rice.
  • Kashmiri Pilau – green peas, nuts in a creamy sauce with saffrom rice.

  • Baygoon Ka Goon – classic vegetarian dish in which whole eggplant is roasted and peeled, then pureed with fresh tomatoes, onions, herbs and spices.
  • Khumba Hari Moti – diced mushrooms and greens peas create a dish that looks like delicate green beads.
